The streets were empty and the bars were packed. Almost no traffic on the streets compared to the hustle and bustle of yesterday. Most shops have their steel curtains pulled down. Yellow and green flags are everywhere. This is World Cup game day in Brazil and everything has shut down to watch the country go up against their former colonizer, Portugal.
I bussed to Copacabana with a South African gent. We were momentarily lost. The bus then pulled over at a bus stop that had a little TV. The driver wanted to watch World Cup. He told us to get off the bus and find another one so he could watch the game. Eventually, we made it down to the beach on the empty bus as everyone was already watching the game. We were late!

20,000 + people were enjoying the event at the beach on a huge screen/stage. Unfortunately, we only got in after the draw, watching the game from a little juice/beer stand on the beach. Should have gotten up earlier!
Awkward photo is awkward!

Nice bus driver! I like it when they randomly pull over without saying anything. Then you look out the window and they sit down at a restaurant with a menu. The whole bus watches in delight.
